Dear Parents,
In an effort to keep you informed we are notifying you of an incident in which a 2nd grade student made comments of a threatening nature against another student, while holding a pair of scissors.
Administration was notified of the incident and immediately contacted the Columbia County School District Police Department. Upon further investigation several students witnessed the incident on the playground during recess. The scissors were immediately secured by CCSD Police and the student is being held accountable according to the code of conduct.
Safety of students and staff is a top priority and we take incidents such as these extremely seriously. We felt it was necessary to notify our parents in the event your child raises any concerns. Parents, please speak with your children about the serious consequences that come with inappropriate or threatening comments and/or actions. Suspicious activity should immediately be reported to a teacher, school administrator or the Columbia County School District Police. If you see something, say something. Working together we can continue to provide a safe, positive learning environment for students and staff.
